Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1 cup brown lentils
  • 1 cup pasta elbows
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (14 oz) chickpeas, drained
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Vinegar and garlic sauce for serving

Steps:

  1. Rinse the rice and lentils, then cook separately according to their package instructions.
  2. Boil pasta until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Fry the onions in vegetable oil until brown and crispy. Set aside on a paper towel to drain.
