Recipe Description
Kinpira Gobo is a traditional Japanese dish featuring sautéed burdock root. Its earthy flavor and crunchy texture make it a unique and nutritious side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Steps:
- Soak julienned burdock root in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add burdock root and carrot. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes.
- Add soy sauce, sugar, mirin, and chili flakes if using. Reduce heat and cook until most of the liquid has evaporated.
- Serve garnished with sesame seeds.
