Ingredients
- 1 cup red lentils
- 2 cups spinach, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 4 cups water
- fresh cilantro for garnish
Steps:
- Rinse the lentils thoroughly under cold water.
- In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add onions, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until onions are translucent.
- Stir in turmeric, coriander powder, and cayenne pepper. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
