Ingredients
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- Cornmeal for dusting
Steps:
- Combine warm water, yeast, and maple syrup in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch the dough down and form it into a round loaf. Place it on a baking sheet dusted with cornmeal.
- Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake the bread for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let the bread cool before slicing.
