Recipe Description

Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, these vegan sesame balls are a delectable sweet treat. Made with a sweet red bean paste filling and coated in sesame seeds, they’re an irresistible snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 200g glutinous rice flour
  • 100g red bean paste
  • 75ml water
  • 50g sugar
  • White sesame seeds for coating
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  1. Mix the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water in a bowl to form a dough.
  2. Divide the dough into 20 equal portions.
  3. Flatten each piece and place a teaspoon of red bean paste in the center. Enclose the filling with the dough and roll into a ball.
  4. Dampen the balls slightly with water and roll them in sesame seeds until fully coated.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or deep pan to 175°C (350°F).
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
