Recipe Description

A light and fresh homemade pesto sauce tossed with your favorite pasta for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 400g pasta of choice
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Steps:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, and garlic. Process until finely chopped.
  3. With the processor running, slowly add the olive oil until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Stir in the nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper.
  5. Toss the pesto sauce with the cooked pasta until evenly coated.
