Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 10 cups water (for boiling)
- 2/3 cup baking soda
- Coarse salt for topping
Steps:
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Bring 10 cups of water to a boil and add baking the soda.
- Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with coarse salt and bake for 12-15 mins until golden brown.
