    Recipe Description

    This savory vegan turnip cake, laced with aromatic mushrooms and shallots, is a classic dim sum dish reimagined. Delightfully chewy and flavorful, it’s a unique addition to any festive table.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup rice flour
    • 1/2 cup diced shiitake mushrooms
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped shallots
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
    • Water as needed

    Steps:

    1. Sauté mushrooms and shallots with soy sauce and sesame oil until soft.
    2. Combine grated turnip, rice flour, five-spice powder, and sautéed mix in a bowl.
    3. Add water gradually until you get a thick batter.
    4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
    5. Steam for about 45 minutes or until firm and cooked through.
    6. Serve warm with a soy sauce dipping.
