    Ingredients

    • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil or vegetable oil
    • 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave syrup
    • 1/4 cup plant-based milk (almond, soy, oat, etc.)
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

    Steps:

    1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9ร—5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
    2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, plant-based milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until all the ingredients are well blended.
    3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
    4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, fold in the vegan chocolate chips or walnuts.
    5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    6. Cool: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
