Recipe Description
A vegan twist on the classic Hawaiian comfort food featuring a savory mushroom-based burger topped with rich gravy and a side of rice.
Ingredients
- 1 cup uncooked brown rice
- 4 vegan burger patties
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of vegan egg (optional)
Steps:
- Cook rice according to package instructions.
- In a skillet, cook vegan burger patties according to package instructions. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté mushrooms until soft.
- Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually stir in vegetable broth and soy sauce, and simmer until thickened.
- Season gravy with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
