Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1.5 cups water
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and boiled
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Steps:
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead until smooth dough forms. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Mash the boiled potatoes. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions until translucent. Add mashed potatoes, smoked paprika, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes. Set aside.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal balls. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin circle.
- Spread the potato mixture over half of each circle, leaving a small border around the edge. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Fold the dough over to cover the filling and press edges to seal.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Cook each gözleme until golden brown on both sides, approximately 3-4 minutes per side. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
