    Indulge in the ultimate culinary delight with our artisanal Vegan Pizza, a masterpiece of flavors and textures that promises to enchant your taste buds. At the heart of this gastronomic creation lies a handcrafted, airy, and tender crust, golden-baked to perfection, offering a delightful crunch with every bite. Slathered generously upon this base is a rich, zesty tomato sauce, seasoned with a blend of aromatic herbs that evoke the essence of Italian countryside.

    Ingredients

    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 cup warm water
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (substitute with bread flour for a crispier crust)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for greasing
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (you can choose a homemade or store-bought variety)
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    Steps:

    1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for about 5 minutes, until the mixture becomes frothy.
    2. Add flour, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
    3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
    4. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat as well.
    5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer to a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness and shape.
    6. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge. Season with oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
    7. Sprinkle the vegan mozzarella cheese over the sauce, and add your chosen toppings.
    8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.
    9. After baking, let the pizza cool for a few minutes before adding fresh arugula (if using), drizzling with olive oil, and sprinkling red pepper flakes.
