Recipe Description
These tempting vegan gyozas are filled with a savory mixture of vegetables and tofu, pan-fried to perfect crispiness on the bottom and then steamed to tenderness. A delightful appetizer to start any meal with.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
- 1/4 cup grated carrot
- 200g firm tofu, crumbled
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 30 vegan gyoza wrappers
Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine cabbage, mushrooms, carrot, crumbled tofu, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each gyoza wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold, pleating the edges to seal.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Place gyozas in the pan and fry until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add a small amount of water to the pan, cover, and steam the gyozas for about 5 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.
- Serve hot with a side of soy sauce and vinegar for dipping.
