Soak dried fruit in black tea overnight.
Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, mixed spice, and salt in a large bowl.
Stir in soaked fruit along with any leftover tea and applesauce.
Pour into a greased loaf pan.
Let cool before slicing.
