Vegan Irish Soda Bread
A traditional, dense Irish bread made vegan-friendly.
Method

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the vegan buttermilk and maple syrup if using. Stir until just combined.
On a lightly floured surface, gently knead the dough into a round loaf, then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cut a cross on the top of the loaf to help it expand while baking.
Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
