    Spicy Jamaican Lentil and Quinoa Patties are a flavorful, nutritious twist on the traditional Jamaican patty. These patties combine the health benefits of lentils and quinoa with a spicy mix of Jamaican herbs and spices, all wrapped in a golden, flaky, vegan crust. Perfect for a hearty lunch, dinner, or on-the-go snack, they’re a delicious way to enjoy the flavors of Jamaica in a plant-based form.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup cooked lentils
    • 1/2 cup cooked quinoa
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 deseeded minced scotch bonnet pepper
    • 2 minced garlic cloves
    • 1 finely chopped onion
    • 1 tsp ground allspice
    • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
    • Salt & Pepper
    • Vegetable Oil (For Frying)

    Steps:

    1. In a bowl, mix lentils, quinoa, Scotch bonnet, garlic, onion, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

    3. Roll out each dough portion, fill with the lentil mixture, fold, and seal edges.
    4. Fry patties in hot oil until golden brown on both sides.
