Ingredients
- 4 vegan steaks (seitan or similar)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup unsweetened plant milk
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- Cooking oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steps:
- In a shallow dish, combine flour, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In another dish, mix plant milk and apple cider vinegar, then let it sit for a few minutes to create a vegan buttermilk.
- Dip each vegan steak first into the flour mixture, then into the vegan buttermilk, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry each steak until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Serve hot with your favorite sides.
