Ingredients
- 400g firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 100ml water
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Chopped spring onions for garnish
Steps:
- Wrap tofu in a paper towel and press to remove excess water. Cut into cubes.
- Toss tofu cubes with cornstarch until fully coated.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and fry tofu until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add soy sauce, maple syrup, ginger, garlic, water, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Return tofu to the pan, toss with the teriyaki sauce, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
