Ingredients

  • 1 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for frying

Steps:

  1. In a bowl, mix the vital wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and nutmeg.
  2. Add the vegetable broth, soy sauce, and mustard to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape each into a sausage.
  4. Wrap each sausage in foil tightly.
  5. Steam the sausages for 40 minutes.
  6. Serve with your favorite side or in a bun with condiments.
