Ingredients
- 2 cups red kidney beans, soaked overnight
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 cups water
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Steps:
- Heat the oil in a pressure cooker or large pot.
- Add cumin seeds and allow them to crackle.
- Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cook for 2 minutes.
- Add tomato puree, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until oil separates from the mixture.
- Stir in garam masala and adjust seasoning.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
