Recipe Description

Crisp and fragrant, these spiced cookies are a vegan nod to the Dutch holiday favorite.

Ingredients

  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 100 g vegan butter
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tsp speculaas spice (or a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2-3 tbsp plant-based milk

Steps:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  2. Cut in the vegan butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add plant-based milk to form a dough.
  4. Roll out and cut into shapes.
  5. Bake at 175°C for 10-12 minutes.
