- 4 large green plantains
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Steps:
- Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick slices.
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the plantain slices for about 3 minutes on each side or until lightly golden.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Using a tostonera or the bottom of a glass, flatten each slice to about half its thickness.
- Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with salt, and serve hot.
