Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Water, as needed for dough
- Oil, for frying
Steps:
- Mix flour, oil, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add water and knead into a stiff dough. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds. When they splutter, add turmeric, chili powder, and diced potatoes. Cook until potatoes are soft.
- Add peas, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Cook for another 5 minutes. Add cilantro and remove from heat.
- Divide dough into balls. Roll each into a thin oval shape, cut it in half, and form each piece into a cone. Fill with potato mixture, seal the edges with water.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pan. Fry samosas until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
