Recipe Description

A classic Dutch pastry with a vegan twist, featuring layers of puff pastry and sweet vanilla cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 package vegan puff pastry
  • 1 cup vegan cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp plant-based milk
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Steps:

  1. Bake the puff pastry according to package instructions and let cool.
  2. Mix vegan cream, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla in a saucepan. Heat until thickened.
  3. Spread the mixture on half the pastry sheets, then cover with the other half.
  4. Mix icing sugar, plant-based milk, and lemon juice for the glaze. Spread over the top pastry layer.
  5. Chill before serving.
